Change for Children aims to create sustained change in Tasmania

A 10-year strategy for upholding the rights of children by preventing, identifying and responding to child sexual abuse has been released.
Change for Children is an enduring strategy that calls for action across Tasmania to create sustained change, and represents the feedback and input of more than 450 organisations and individuals, including victim-survivors, children and young people, all of whom informed the development of the strategy.
“The feedback provided during the extensive consultation period has ensured the voices of our community have been captured to create meaningful change for all Tasmanians,” Premier Jeremy Rockliff said.
“Change for Children is about ensuring every Tasmanian child is safe, cared for, protected, and supported.”
Based on community feedback, the updated strategy extends beyond the Commission of Inquiry recommendations to take a whole-of-community approach to creating child safe cultures and systems.
The Tasmanian Government will work with all levels of government, community organisations and the wider community to implement this strategy.
