Jason Roberts, CEO
Jason Roberts entered the ECEC sector in 2013 as CEO of G8 Education. He spent four years in senior executive positions before transitioning out of the business in January 2018. His time at G8 has given him a very valuable insight into the managing of large child care business and all the successes and challenges that come with them. Since leaving G8 Jason has continued to actively consult to the ECEC sector as an advisor, and work toward launching The Sector website. Jason has significant business and financial experience having previously worked in a range of roles in London, Singapore and Australia. Jason’s key role at The Sector is to oversee strategy, provide opinion pieces and cover sector news. Jason is married with two beautiful sons, aged 3 years and 1 years old both of which are enrolled in early education centres close to where he lives on the Gold Coast.
Lyndsie Clark, Editor
Lyndsie Clark has worked in niche B2B print and online publishing and events, for the past 10 years, predominantly at Melbourne-based company Great Southern Press. Her last role at the company as General Manager saw Lyndsie manage a tight-knit team of journalists, sales, design and events staff, across the company’s local and international offices. Lyndsie has much experience producing publications and providing marketing solutions for business associations, and the companies and organisations that they represent. Lyndsie’s key role at The Sector is to compile and manage editorial. Lyndsie is married with two sons, aged 11 months, and 3 years, who both attend childcare.
Freya Lucas, Assistant Editor
Freya Lucas has over 20 years experience in education and care services, with her previous roles as an early childhood teacher, primary teacher, and ECEC operations manager giving her a unique insight into the ECEC sector at all levels. Freya’s career has seen her work in private in-home care, primary schools, long day care, out of school hours care, in addition to tuition and library information and management settings. Freya’s key role at The Sector is to cover the latest ECEC news and provide insight and analysis into sector issues and developments. Freya is engaged with two sons aged 10 and 15. Freya has fond memories of the time her boys’ spent in the early education space.
Alysha Rigter, Research Analyst
Alysha Rigter is a research analyst with a degree in Statistics from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand. She left university in 2016. Prior to her role at The Sector, Alysha worked for insurance company IAG as a Pricing Analyst. Her role consisted of ensuring the insurance premium reflected the risk of a customer, the amount of premium covered claim costs, and other ad hoc data requests. Although, having a passion for numbers Alysha is also passionate about journalism, in particular researching stories and fact checking. She has recently moved to the Gold Coast with her partner and dog.
