Griffith Preschool Kindergarten ECT Susan Paton secures prestigious scholarship
Susan Paton of Griffith Preschool Kindergarten is one of 14 elite New South Wales educators who was recently awarded with a prestigious Premier’s Teacher Scholarship for their commitment to quality education.
Ms Paton secured the Premier’s Early Childhood Education Scholarship which is open to degree-qualified early childhood teachers (ECTs) who are currently teaching in early childhood education and care services in NSW.
Scholarship winners are given uo to $15,000 to further study in any aspect of early childhood education, funding a study tour and follow up activities of up to five weeks within Australia, with optional virtual international connections undertaken as appropriate.
The scholarship has been on a two year hiatus due to COVID-19, and is now back to recognise NSW teachers from government and non-government schools and preschools, and teachers at TAFE NSW Institutes.
“These scholarships provide teachers with the unique opportunity to explore their field of expertise by visiting some of Australia’s highly acclaimed schools and centres for teaching and learning,” said NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet.
“This is an amazing opportunity that can really transform a teacher’s professional career by broadening their knowledge and expanding their horizons.”
