40 scholarships awarded to NSW early childhood educators
40 scholarships, worth up to $20,000 each, have been awarded to early childhood educators in New South Wales under the 2020-21 Early Childhood Education Scholarships Program.
The Scholarships Program has been designed to make it easier for more people to commence or upgrade their qualifications to a bachelor degree in early childhood teaching, NSW Minister for Education and Early Childhood Learning Sarah Mitchell said.
Early childhood educators are key to children developing lifelong foundational skills, she continued, expressing her hope that the scholarships will help “some of our best become even better”.
“We recognise that these scholarship recipients will deepen their understanding of early childhood environments, and gain additional skills and capabilities which will be passed on to the children they teach.”
Ms Mitchell extended her congratulations to all recipients, wishing them “every success in their studies and future careers as qualified early childhood teachers.”
