Australian first professional development opportunity for early childhood on energy conservation and renewable energy.

Parents for Climate, in partnership with leading early childhood academic Dr Sue Elliott, is proud to present a groundbreaking Australian-first webinar designed to support early childhood education and care (ECEC) professionals in teaching concepts of energy conservation and renewable energy.

The one-hour session will introduce educators to Energy Conservation and Renewable Energy for Children’s Healthy Futures, a newly developed resource booklet tailored for early learning settings. 

All participants will receive resources which provide practical tools and play-based strategies to embed sustainability into early learning programs.

Dr Elliott, author of the resource, explains:

“This interactive webinar explores energy conservation and renewable energy through key concepts, pedagogies, play experiences and real-world case studies from early childhood services. It’s about showing what’s possible, even with limited support.”

Sustainability is now a key principle in the updated Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF V2, mandated in 2024). However, currently governments do not supply early learning professionals with the kinds of teaching resources and funding available to their school-based colleagues in this area.
