Former Goodstart CEO Julia Davison recognised in Australia Day 2024 Honours List

Julia Davison, Goodstart Early Learning’s former CEO, has been recognised in this year’s Honours List for her significant service to children, youth and to the community and has been appointed as an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO).

Ms Davison joined Goodstart in 2011 as the Group’s founding CEO and spent eleven years at the helm of Australia’s largest social enterprise and not-for-profit early childhood education and care provider.

“Congratulations Julia on this much deserved recognition of your extraordinary contribution to Australia’s children and young people,” Goodstart’s Chairman Paul Robertson, AO said. 

“Having spent eleven years ensuring Goodstart, a unique social enterprise, delivered on the aspirations of its founders, Julia continues to be a highly effective advocate for children and young people.”

After leaving Goodstart in late 2022, Ms Davison was appointed to the Board of the Childcare Economic Opportunity Fund NSW and became a non-executive director at the Paul Ramsay Foundation.

Mrs Lois Maiden from Forrest in the ACT was also recognised this year for services to primary and early childhood education and was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM).
