Busy Bees confirms 2.4% above award wage plan for all educators from 1 August
Early childhood education and care (ECEC) provider Busy Bees Early Learning (Busy Bees) has announced that it will offer all staff employed under the Modern Award a wage that is 2.4 per cent above award from 1 August 2022.
Existing staff will see a 4.6 per cent increase to their wage as the Modern Award increase for 2022-23 kicks in on 1 July 2022, and from 1 August 2022, a further increase resulting in all staff being paid at least 2.4 per cent above the award.
“Busy Bees Early Learning is thrilled to announce that we are ensuring our educators receive at least 2.4 per cent above the award, in recognition of the valuable work they do each and every day,” Robert Hughes, Chief Executive Officer said.
“We know that educators have a choice and we continue to position ourselves as an exciting and valuable employer in a sector that has faced many challenges and pressures over the last two years. Offering genuine and real benefits to current and new staff is our commitment to their growth and long-term careers at Busy Bees.”
This new commitment to pay educator wages above award is the second such important workforce remuneration based initiative the group has launched this year having been the first large ECEC provider to commit to extend the maximum level of gap fee discount, 95 per cent, to employees who have a child or children enrolled at a Busy Bees centre.
“We want to recognise and reward our people, and prove that Busy Bees ‘walks the talk’ of valuing staff and encourage even more fantastic Educators, not only into the early learning sector, but into our Busy Bees Hive,” Chrystal Dillon, Head of People and Culture explained.
The above-award wage is available to all current and new Busy Bees award staff.
