Stitt sends her message of thanks to ECEC sector at the end of challenging year
Victoria’s Minister for Early Childhood, Ingrid Stitt, has sent a message of thanks to early childhood education and care (ECEC) service providers, teachers, educators and support staff.
“As we end 2021, I want to express my sincere thanks to you and your team, for your hard work, day in day out, to support, educate and care for Victoria’s youngest children,” the Minister wrote.
“Despite the many challenges this year, your dedication and skill ensured that our youngest learners were able to get the best start in life, as they commenced their education journey.”
She went on to outline that ECEC professionals, alongside all Victorians, had to make changes in their lives and their professional practice because of COVID-19. “I’m grateful that you have done so, while maintaining your unwavering commitment to children in your services and their families,” the Minister added.
During 2022 Victorian ECEC professionals will be a part of the state-wide roll-out of universal, funded Three-Year-Old Kindergarten, with all the opportunities that it will present for young children and their families.
The Minister concluded her letter by wishing ECEC professionals a happy, safe and restful holiday season, enjoyed with family and friends, and thanking them for everything they have done and continue to do in service of the youngest Victorians.
