$2m ECEC service planned in Perth with consultation period now open

Plans for a Nido Early School, to be located in a northern coastal “growth suburb” of Perth have been released, and are open for comment through the City of Wanneroo.
The service, which will cater to 92 children and their families, will be located at 145 Leatherback Boulevard in the Perth suburb of Alkimos if approved, with current proposals showing a single story building with five indoor rooms, two outdoor areas, and spaces for bathrooms, staff rooms and a reception area.
Outdoor spaces have been designed by Nature Play solutions, with a concept plan showing a boat, aviary, planter boxes and a variety of structures for playing on, in and around.
Proposed operating hours, to be covered by 19 staff, are 6:30am to 6:30 pm on weekdays, with the centre opposite a local primary school, and offering parking in 31 onsite parking bays with access off Leatherback Boulevard.
Feedback will remain open until 10 September through the City of Wanneroo, with the Metro Outer Development Assessment Panel due to consider the application.
