KI Children’s Services recognises educators for hard work during COVID-19 pandemic
Despite the hardships being faced by the island as a whole following a devastating summer of bushfires, the governing council of Kangaroo Island (KI) Children’s Services recently recognised its childcare educators for their hard work through the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, local news source The Islander has reported.
Deb Laver, the new governing council chairperson, told The Islander that the provider “wanted to show a small sign of its appreciation” through sharing gifts and kind words with educators across the Island’s three sites.
Local businesses chipped in to provide sushi, cakes, coffee and pot plants for educators from Kangaroo Island Children’s Services, Penneshaw Centre Based Care (PCBC) and Out of School Hours Care, Kingscote.
Educators were thanked for their efforts, and for the way in which they have continued to serve the community in a professional manner during the pandemic.
