Queensland NFPs invited to apply for Gambling Community Benefit Fund
Community and not for profit (NFP) organisations throughout Queensland are being encouraged to apply for funding in the latest round of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund (GCBF) grants program.
A number of early childhood education and care (ECEC) services were beneficiaries of the previous funding rounds, with grants of up to $35,000 being used for landscaping, kitchen renovations, resource purchases and furniture.
Queensland Attorney-General and Minister for Justice Yvette D’Ath said Round 104 of the popular program also marks the launch of updated funding eligibility guidelines, which are designed to streamline the way organisations can apply for funding.
Over the past 25 years, the GCBF has distributed more than $900 million to Queensland not-for-profit groups, Mrs D’Ath said. Earlier this month, $14.9 million in funding, shared between more than 700 Queensland community groups, was announced, with more funding now on the table.
“This time around it’s easier than ever to apply, with guidelines available in a new-look online format to ensure a more user-friendly experience for applicants” Mrs D’Ath noted, adding that the grants are merit based, with funding allocations determined by an independent panel.
“They’re accessible to all not-for-profit community groups, whether big or small, so we’re encouraging eligible organisations to get their applications in.”
Mrs D’Ath said the new more user-friendly application process was designed to give not-for-profits the best chance for success in winning a grant, and that the judging panel was keen to hear from those who are passionate about making a difference, encouraging them to share the story of how their organisation is making a difference.
Applications are open until 29 February, with the most recent round being one of five held each year, with grants from $500 to $35,000 on offer.
