C&K calls on thought leaders to step forward and share expertise at 2024 conference
Early childhood education and care (ECEC) provider C&K is calling on early childhood educators, teachers, policymakers, facilitators, academics and researchers to share their expertise and submit an abstract for the 2024 C&K Conference, which has the theme Every Day Matters: For Every Child, For You, For Impact.
The conference will bring together more than 500 early childhood professionals across Queensland to exchange ideas, explore current research and contemporary practice, and share lived experience and learnings.
For C&K’s Chief Operating Officer, Kim Davis, the conference theme is an important way to showcase “the significance of daily experiences in early childhood education and the impact they have on both educators’ lives and the lives of young children.”
“When you’re educating and caring for children, the interactions you have, the approach you take, and the choices you make each and everyday matter deeply to the lives of children,” Ms Davis said.
“These daily choices can also influence and empower an educator’s own life and that of their broader team and surrounding community.”
“We know that magical and connected moments matter to children’s daily experiences, so we’d love to hear from sector experts and thought leaders who can share their insights, research findings and innovative approaches to inclusive education, elevating the voices and rights of children, and the crucial role of play in the early years.”
Presenting at C&K’s conference can also help educators to feel empowered, and to inspire others, by reflecting on the daily choices they can make to ignite professional pride and contribute to meaningful work.
“The early years sector plays a crucial role in the wellbeing of future generations and that of a reconciled nation, so we’re keen to elevate the stories, practices and voices of those who are actively reducing equity and equality barriers, embracing cultural safety, and empowering First Nations communities and families.”
The conference will be held on Saturday, 20 July at the Royal International Convention Centre in Meanjin, Brisbane.
C&K invites applications to present on topics that inspire, educate and improve practice, and would like to hear from those with contemporary practice and knowledge of reconciliation; culturally safe, inclusive and responsive kindergarten programs; environmental sustainability; neurodiversity; nature play; interactive technology; AI; children’s rights and consent; and educator wellbeing.
C&K respects the depth of knowledge, capabilities and stories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and encourages them to apply to share their perspectives.
Submissions are now open and will close at 5pm, Friday, 19 April 2024. Please visit the 2024 C&K Conference to submit your paper, view FAQs and further information about the conference.
