Community Kids Chirnside Park celebrates Exceeding finding in all 7 Quality Areas
G8 Education operated early childhood service Community Kids Chirnside Park was recently awarded the Exceeding rating in all seven quality areas during an assessment and rating visit from the Australian Children’s Education and Care Authority (ACECQA).
The recognition was especially welcomed given that the centre has received the same top rating in every assessment since their first one in 2013.
“It is such a positive thing for us to maintain our Exceeding rating, because it demonstrates that our passion and dedication for early years education is embedded throughout our service,” Centre Manager Bec Rogers said.
“For us to successfully maintain and exceed expectations continually, we are just so proud. It’s such a team effort.”
Ms Rogers says the team at the service is the most important factor to the ongoing success.
“We have a lot of long serving team members who have been here 15 years or more and encourage and welcome new team members to start their career here at Community Kids, where they can be mentored by teachers and educators with an incredible amount of experience and knowledge,” she said.
“Every educator is here for the children and we believe that is the most important thing.”
Ms Rogers has been part of the service for the past 19 years, and has held the Centre Manager role for the last two. She says a well-established positive culture and alignment to the vision of the centre make it special.
“Providing quality education and care starts with a team of educators that share the same vision, and a genuine dedication to achieving the best outcomes possible for all children. That’s what you find here,” she said.
“Often we will say you need to come and look around to know what we mean when we talk about the vision.”
“It’s about creating an environment that nurtures children with respect; we have a focus on sustainable play, using recycled materials, and building a curriculum that is child focused to achieve the best outcomes for children.”
“People who have spent time in our centre say they can see the respect and education we provide every child. The service has an intimate and homelike feeling; we really like to focus on that. You will always see our educators engaging with the children, using every moment as a teaching opportunity or a point of connection. The centre has been a part of our local community for over 25 years and continues to hold a strong reputation with families both new and old.”
