Toddle acquires Care for Kids to create Australia’s largest child care search platform
Childcare centre search and comparison platform, Toddle, has confirmed it has successfully acquired rival platform Care for Kids in a transaction that will see the combined business become the largest destination for families searching for child care, with in excess of three million visits per year.
The deal, which combines Toddle’s best in class technology stack and user experience capabilities with Care for Kids’ sector leading brand recognition and reach, will create an unparalleled opportunity for service owners and managers to ensure they are reaching to the widest audience possible, as often as possible.
Toddle founder and CEO, and former realestate.com.au COO, Arthur Charlaftis, along with wife Effie, a childcare centre owner-operator, said, “We’ve seen the evolution of consumer search habits and patterns evolve in other sectors and industries, which is evident in the consumer demand for aggregator sites such as Compare the Market, Carsales and iSelect. Australian parents have been asking for the same thing, which is why today’s announcement is so exciting.”
“By combining two such important platforms we are going to be able to provide the early childhood education and care (ECEC) sector with access to families who are not only just at the beginning of their child care search journey, but all the way through, and therefore support them in building enrolment and occupancy at their services.”
Care for Kids founders Roxanne and Mark Elliott shared their thoughts on the deal, saying, “When you spend nearly two decades building a business from the ground up, it takes a special partnership offering to make you feel comfortable co-parenting your baby. And we couldn’t be more excited by Toddle and the opportunities it offers our Care for Kids community”.
Key elements as a result of the two platforms coming together:
- Now Australia’s largest search and compare platform;
- Attracts more than three million visits from Australian parents each year;
- Number one Google search ranking across Australian suburbs;
- Syndications and partnership with leading Australian consumer brands including a realestate.com.au listing partnership;
- A market leading executive team and board with extensive digital, finance and childcare experience
“With further partnership plans in the near future and a longer-term vision for global expansion, our mission is to become the number one destination for parents selecting child care and child related services and products and continue to facilitate their connection with the ECEC sector,” Mr Charlaftis concluded,
