Nature play nurtured in the ACT thanks to 2020 grant allocations

The ACT Government has announced the six programs and initiatives to receive funding through the 2020 Nature Play Grants Program.
The Nature Play Grants provide financial assistance to eligible organisations that find innovative ways to keep the community active through outdoor play, making use of Canberra’s “great outdoor areas, open spaces and natural landscape”.
In 2020, the grants program focused on applications that created opportunities for diverse and changing lifestyles with an aim to support areas of the community that may have previously been under-represented.
Anglicare at Southern Cross Early Childhood School received $2,860 for equipment to support nature play, while Aeon Academy, which offers programs supporting children from three years of age, were given $8,690 to purchase equipment to create a nature play space.
The Baringa Child Care Centre Association were also supported with $5,250 for nature play equipment, while Ainslie and Gorman Arts Centres were given $9,650 in funding for professional and creative nature play workshops, supporting ACT educators to upskill in this domain.
