ASQA cancels AIBT-I decision prior to heading to Federal Court
The Australia Institute of Business and Technology – International (AIBT-I) has received notice that the Australian Skills and Quality Authority (ASQA) has revoked its decision to cancel its VET and CRICOS registration, which was to have been effective from 19 June 2019.
The now void cancellation plans were reported on by The Sector late last month. At the time, AIBT-I had instructed its legal team to file an application against ASQA’a decision to cancel in the Federal Court of Australia.
The Federal Court application was due to be heard yesterday, 5 June 2019, however ASQA revoked the decision to cancel, also on 5 June 2019, and as a result, AIBT-I discontined the Federal Court application.
A spokesperson for AIBT-I said the organisation “welcomes ASQA’s decision to cancel,” which allows AIBT-I to continue to provide training and education to its students, and, in turn, allows students to remain focused on their studies.
