Community House now offering childcare thanks to Pick My Project initiative

The Park Orchards Community House, which provides community engagement activities through social, recreational and learning activities for the people of the Manningham City Council area, will be able to offer childcare services by the end of the month, thanks to the delivery of a new building.
The building, and associated works to clear land behind an existing building, were funded through a successful application for a Victorian State Government Pick My Project grant in 2018, local news source The Manningham Leader has reported.
More than 260 people voted in support of the project, which netted $170,000 in funding. The Community House representatives applied for the grant after enrolments in adult learning courses tripled in the past six years.
The new building will be dual purpose, The Leader noted, with the space being used to care for children during the day, and for community activities in the evening.
