Ex Affinity CFO Steven Becker to replace Sharyn Williams as G8’s new CFO

G8 Education has confirmed the appointment of Steven Becker to the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) commencing in early 2025.

The news comes in the wake of current CFO, Sharyn Williams, tendering her resignation after seven years working for the ASX listed early childhood education and care (ECEC) provider as she prepares to pursue alternative career opportunities.

Since leaving Mantra Group in 20216, where he was CFO for close to nine years, Mr Becker has been CFO at a number of different companies including Affinity Education Group where he held the position for two and a half years between August 2016 and December 2018. 

Mr Becker is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment, a Master of Business Administration and is a Fellow of the Finance Services Institute of Australasia.

In announcing Mr Becker’s appointment, G8 once again thanked outgoing CFO Sharyn Williams for her “significant contribution to G8’s growth and strong financial management” and wished her well in her future endeavours.

Ms Williams will remain with G8 into Quarter 1, 2025 to ensure a smooth transition of her key responsibilities to Mr Becker.
