Childcare Leadership Alliance recognised with Queensland Mining Award
The Childcare Leadership Alliance (CLA) has been recognised in the 2024 Queensland Mining Awards, winning the National Group Community, Staff Engagement or EEO Award for its work, which is conducted in partnership with BHP Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) and Astute Early Years Specialists.
The 2024 Queensland Mining Awards were celebrated with a black-tie gala event which was held in Mackay on 24 July as part of the Queensland Mining and Engineering Exhibition.
Presented by the Bowen Basin Mining Club alongside Queensland Resources Council, the 2024 awards recognised Queensland’s best and brightest resources contractors, suppliers and producers, with peer-judged awards presented over eight categories addressing safety, collaboration, environment and innovation.
As well as the announcement of the award winners, the evening included a keynote address from Asset President of BHP Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA), Adam Lancey, and an industry address from Queensland Resources Council CEO, Janette Hewson.
“We are so honoured to receive this award, acknowledging our hard work and commitment to improving Early Childhood Services in regional communities,” Mel Comerford, Director, Astute Early Years Specialists said.
“This recognition highlights our dedication to providing high quality early learning for all children, families and the community. We are excited about the future and what the next phase will bring for the Childcare Leadership Alliance.”

- Hastings Deering Environment Award: Pembroke Resources – Biodiversity Protocol for Endangered Fauna
- Austmine Innovation METS Award: StrataLock – Stratalock Resin: Next Step in Ground Consolidation
