Embark Early Education confirms appointment of Josie Shawcross as new CFO

Embark Early Education has confirmed that Josie Shawcross will be the Group’s new Chief Financial Officer effective 12 October 2023.
Ms Shawcross replaces Edmund Mah, who is based in New Zealand and who decided not to relocate to Australia following the culmination of Embark’s redomicile process which commenced after the sale of its New Zealand operations last year.
Ms Shawcross has a long history of experience in the early childhood education and care (ECEC) sector in Australia having held senior accounting roles at ASX listed provider G8 Education since 2010 before leaving to join Embark in June 2019.
Soon after joining Ms Shawcross was promoted to Financial Controller and will now step up to the CFO role.
“Josie’s extensive experience in the ASX listed segment of the early learning sector and in-depth knowledge of Embark makes her a natural choice to lead our finance function,” Chris Scott, Managing Director said.
