Cubby OOSH (Outside Of School Hours) service is one of the first and longest standing outside school hours care (OSHC) providers in New South Wales, operating 36 services across the state.

The provider is an exclusive OSHC provider which offers before and after school care as well as vacation care.

What is the history of Cubby OOSH

Cubby is independently and privately owned and was founded in 1984. More recently, Cubby has undertaken a major investment in its people, programs, and community engagement channels  following a change of management to a team with a proven record of operating Exceeding-rated early and middle childhood education services.

What is Cubby OOSH’s vision and approach to outside school hours care?

Cubby has a vision to raise the bar of the OSHC sector “so that all students can be assured of consistent quality.”

The organisation employs a four-tier approach to programming which is designed to ensure active, engaging, fun and inclusive options are available, and which also responds to the preferences of students and parents, and compliments the schools own philosophy.

Every Cubby service sets up daily activities and resources under five ‘Cubby Activity Station’ headings:

  • Physical,
  • Creative,
  • Team,
  • STEM, and
  • Chill

For students who want something different there is a well-stocked suite of games, equipment and resources available at every service and educators encourage students to follow their interests and create.

Are there any unique aspects to the Cubby OOSH offer?

Cubby OOSH regularly makes meaningful donations to school communities, and have in recent times made financial contributions to school infrastructure upgrades, designed and donated playscapes on school grounds, and provided time, skills and energy to community events, as well as employment opportunities at its services to community members.
