Glen Education Caulfield South celebrates Exceeding rating in all 7 quality areas
The team at Glen Education Caulfield South are celebrating achieving a rating of Exceeding in all seven quality areas during a recent assessment and rating visit.
“Educators viewed children as capable and resourceful and as contributors to the program and valued their unique qualities and abilities,” the authorised officer noted.
“There was an abundance of opportunities for children to have a voice and explore their creative expression. All educators worked seamlessly and respectfully in shared roles due to a timetable that was designed to meet families’ needs for flexible kindergarten options. This meant that all teachers and support educators played a role in the assessment of and planning for learning, and the success of these working relationships was evident in practice.”
Educational leader Melissa MacMaster was praised for the passion she demonstrated, and for her commitment to supporting and mentoring all educators “which was evident in the time allocated to work with the service, promoting the use of provocations and in the quality improvement plan.”
There was a strong leadership culture in the service, which consistently promotes a positive culture, supporting all stakeholders, including educators and families, which contributes to the ongoing continuous improvement of the service.
During the assessment visit, the service also demonstrated a commitment to providing an inclusive service that reflected the community and families and recognising the importance of striving for best practice and continuously reflecting on what they could do to improve outcomes for children and families.
Led by the educational leader, reflective discussions were a part of the day-to-day operations, and a wide variety of provocations were consistently circulated to promote critical reflection.
