Bubbles not balloons: Camp Australia pairs up with Zoos Victoria on campaign

Camp Australia has joined with Zoos Victoria in a bid to promote the use of bubbles rather than balloons at outdoor celebrations and events, with the aim of supporting environmental conservation and animal welfare.
Balloons are the number one deadliest form of litter when ingested by seabirds, causing serious harm to these animals and damaging the environment. Zoos Victoria have partnered with Phillip Island Nature Parks to address the issue, dubbing the campaign When Balloons Fly, Seabirds Die.
During the school holidays children who are enrolled in the Rocketeers school holiday program, Camp Australia attendees will make their own bubble liquid to engage in fun activities and learn about caring for the environment.
This initiative, a Camp Australia spokesperson said, is linked to the learning outcomes in the National Quality Framework in terms of promoting responsibility and respect toward the environment.
“We are delighted to be joining Zoos Victoria’s campaign, as we actively contribute to educating young children about the environment and promoting sustainability,” said Camp Australia CEO Warren Jacobson.
“Through engaging and interactive play, we aim to provide children with meaningful and purposeful experiences that foster their understanding of these important concepts.”
