Asserting a Culture of Child Safety: Early Childhood Consultant Nicole Talarico

Experienced early childhood consultant Nicole Talarico has launched a new book Asserting a Culture of Child Safety which aims to empower those working in the early childhood education and care (ECEC) sector to champion children’s safety and wellbeing.
As a practical tool, the book provides clarification and confidence for professionals, offering guidance and support about what to do to create a culture of child safety in any education and care organisation.
“This book is a must-have for every early childhood professional’s bookshelf. Nicole takes a confronting topic and turns it into something real, something tangible, something not so scary,” launch MC and advocate Sarah-Louise Gandolfo said.
Formally launched on the 1st of April, the book enables educators and everyone in the community to comprehend, reflect, and improve as they take best practices into account.
Early childhood teacher Michelle Smith spoke at the launch, saying the book “manages to not only offer a detailed yet easy-to-read summary of all Child Safe Standards, but is cleverly and most importantly a working document”.
Ms Talarico is the founding director of Talarico Consulting and Medical Action Bag. She has consulted in the early childhood sector for more than 20 years, supporting children’s services with high-quality practice and ongoing improvement, specialising in exceeding service provision.
