Early childhood education and care (ECEC) provider The Atlantis Group is celebrating the success of its Pedagogical Leader Lara Bowler who was recently named as Western Australia’s Outstanding Early Childhood Teacher in the inaugural Early Childhood Learning and Development Sector Awards.

“Lara is an exceptional advocate for all professionals working within the Early Education and Care Sector, who commit their careers to shape the lives of children and support their growth and development,” shared Rory Hindle, Managing Director of The Atlantis Group.

“We are so fortunate to have Lara working within our group, not only to support our incredibly passionate team of Educators, but also assisting in establishing a child’s self-esteem, resilience, healthy growth and capacity to learn.”

Ms Bowler said she was so proud to be part of the Atlantis Group, noting that she “cannot wait” to continue learning in her role as Pedagogical Leader.

“I love my role; I get to learn as well as teach. I get to be curious and wonder alongside the children.”

After completing a Bachelor of Primary Education through Edith Cowan University Ms Bowler undertook further study, finishing her Diploma of Children’s Services whilst working at Tall Tree Early Learning, where she continues to “create magic moments every day,” according to Tall Tree Banksia Grove Centre Manager Katie-Scarlett McKay.

“One that really stands out is when she was in the bush tucker garden with a group of children, and she took the opportunity to provoke curiosity regarding authentically embedding Reconciliation. This led to preparing bush bread with the children and cooking it on an open fire in our yarning circle. Lara is continually extending our journey to Reconciliation by networking with the local museum and collaborating with our families.”

The Atlantis Group is a local family-run ECEC business, with 18 services across Perth, focusing on high-quality early learning and outside school hours care which has been in operation for over 25 years. Learn more about the Group here
