Kinder Kits are back in 2023 with Vic services encouraged to check data in KIMS
Victorian Kindergarten services wishing to make sure they have Kinder Kits to give to every eligible child enrolled in Three-Year-Old Kindergarten next year have been encouraged to make sure their provisional Three-Year-Old enrolment data is up to date by the end of October.
Stored in KIMS, the data should include:
- contact details for the service
- provisional 2023 Three-Year-Old Kindergarten enrolment numbers
The Kinder Kit team will be contacting services in November to confirm orders, and for those providers with more than one service, the primary contact listed in KIMS for the service provider will be asked to confirm kit orders for all services.
Kinder Kit items have been carefully chosen to encourage creativity and open-ended play, and include books by Australian authors as well as toys and activities from Victorian designers and businesses. All items are child-safe and inclusive of Victoria’s diverse communities.
Tips and ideas to help families to engage with the kit and supporting resources will also be available to support services to talk about the kits with families.
Children enrolled in a funded kindergarten program in the year before school will not be eligible to receive a Kinder Kit. Three-year-olds at long day care (LDC) services need to be enrolled in a funded Three-Year-Old Kindergarten program at the LDC to receive a kit.
