Victoria turns to Skilled Migration Program for qualified ECTs

Qualified early childhood teachers (ECTs) living both in Victoria and overseas are being invited to register for the Victorian Skilled Migration Program for 2022/23.
Applicants will need to submit a Registration of Interest (ROI), and, once selected, will have two weeks to lodge their application with the Department of Home Affairs.
When applying for a Skilled Migration Visa ECT applicants must have an approved early childhood teaching qualification listed on the ACECQA website, or apply to ACECQA for an individual skills assessment.
Under the program skilled migrants have two pathways to permanent residency in Victoria. Early childhood teaching has been added to the priority list, and applicants may be eligible for incentives and other payments for roles which are valued from $9,000 to $50,000 with the aim of attracting qualified ECTs to work in services delivering Three-Year-Old Kindergarten.
Skilled visa applicants need to ensure the information provided in their SkillSelect EOI is up to date as it helps with the selection process for Victorian visa nomination. Those who applied in the 2021-22 application cycle and were unsuccessful will need to submit a new or updated application.
More information is available on the Live in Melbourne website. Applicants are reminded that only those with specialised knowledge about visas can assist with applications, and anyone seeking specific assistance or advice should visit The Department of Home Affairs website.
