Busy Bees Compliance & Operations Support Officer runs to raise funds for Bravehearts
Branka Indic, a Compliance & Operations Support Officer working at the Busy Bees National Support Centre has taken a special interest in supporting Bravehearts by running the Bravehearts 777 Marathon and raising more than $21,000.
Busy Bees Early Learning is an official corporate partner of Bravehearts, an Australian child protection organisation dedicated solely to the prevention and treatment of child sexual abuse.
Founded in 1977 by Hetty Johnston, Bravehearts provides industry-leading child protection training and education programs, specialist child sexual abuse counselling and support services, as well as research and lobbying.
As an early childhood organisation, Busy Bees supports Bravehearts’ vision of a world where people, communities and systems all work together to protect children from sexual abuse.
While many of the Busy Bees services around Australia get involved and show their support of Bravehearts throughout the year, Ms Indic’s contribution is particularly notable because she participated in seven half marathons in seven states over seven consecutive days.
“This was a huge challenge for me, but I was very committed and
supported. I had pledged to raise $10,000 to help Bravehearts continue to educate, empower and protect our children, and was beyond thrilled to actually raise more than $21,000 and counting” Ms Indic shared.
A fundraiser was held in late April, on National Superhero Day, to support Branka in her special mission, which began on June 23, traveling through Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Launceston, Sydney and Canberra, finishing on the Gold Coast on July 3.
Those wishing to donate and help the cause are still able to do so via this link.
