FDCA makes ECA partnered Learning Hub available to members

Family Day Care Australia (FDCA) has partnered with Early Childhood Australia (ECA), to provide its members with a new way to meet their professional development needs.

The ECA partnership will provide members with access to courses from the ECA Learning Hub, which  is highly regarded for its contemporary and evidence-based library. 

FDCA members can access the space through FDCA’s Member Zone, with access to more than 25 courses which are housed in the partnered Learning Hub and are available as part of existing memberships. 

The collaboration with ECA is expected to save members time and money, offering them more than $100 of education and training annually at no additional cost. Each course can be completed remotely or in the company of colleagues, with the courses being self paced.

“Finding professional development opportunities that address the unique framework, standards and requirements under which family day care operates can be a labour-intensive process,” an FDCA spokesperson said.

“You want to be sure that the time you put into professional development delivers practical and meaningful benefits, from verified early childhood professionals and experts in the field.” 

Some of the courses available as part of the partnership include:

• Playing with gratitude;
• Supporting children’s self-regulation;
• Reconciliation in action;
• Using critical reflection;
• Maths is everywhere; and
• Delving deeper into documenting and assessing.

As the Family Day Care sector’s national peak body, FDCA has a strong focus on supporting continuous improvement in pedagogical, regulatory and operational practice and creating spaces for the sector to enjoy collaborative learning and networking.
