Blayney Preschool celebrates $10,000 funding grant to be used for resources and training
Staff from Blayney Preschool, near Bathurst, New South Wales, will participate in specialised training to support access and participation for Aboriginal children and children from low-income families thanks to a $10,000 grant.
Member for Bathurst Paul Toole visited the preschool to announce the funding, which has been delivered under the Early Childhood Community Grants program. The grant will also be used to support the development of educational resources that promote outreach to children in the target communities.
As well as the $10,000 grant, the preschool is celebrating the addition of a new mud kitchen, which has been delivered as part of a NSW Government grant of $13,454 from its Quality Learning Environment (QLE) Fund.
“Blayney Preschool has a diverse mix of outdoor play areas for its children and a new mud kitchen near the sandpit will provide a new sensory experience for the kids,” Mr Toole said.
“It’s great that this funding has allowed the staff to develop their skills and purchase new equipment.”
Mr Toole said both grants are greatly welcomed in the community, especially after a tough year for the early childhood services with drought, fire and COVID-19.
“Early childhood education is incredibly important and these grants will help educators provide high-quality learning environments for our children,” he said.
