Edge Early Learning Waterford West digs deep to support flooding victims

The educators, children and families of Queensland based early childhood education and care (ECEC) service Edge Early Learning Waterford West have rallied together to support those affected by the recent floods in South-East Queensland and Northern New South Wales.

 

Led by Director Lavinia Robinson a donation drive at the service was established to build up a collection of essential items to give to families who had been impacted by the extreme weather event. 

 

“The support was incredible with the centre receiving donations including towels, sheets, quilt covers, clothing, wipes, nappies, books, board games, puzzles, toys, Christmas trees and food and drinks,” an Edge representative said.

 

Donations were packaged up and collected by the wonderful local Night Light team in mid March to deliver to families in need, in the hope of supporting the recovery efforts and providing some relief to those impacted.

 

As long-term supporters of charity organisation Baby Give Back, Edge Early Learning has also stepped up offering all its centres as collection points for the charity, who are seeking donations of quality baby items, car seats and toiletries for both children and adults. 

 

“With community at our core, Edge Early Learning is committed to doing our bit to give back to the people in our local areas, and to stay true to our values,” an Edge spokesperson said. 

 

“We value the relationships we have with our community partners and believe that incorporating these relationships into children’s learning will provide a better future for everyone.”
