G8 Education appoints Ali Evans as new Head of Learning and Education
G8 Education has confirmed the appointment of Ali Evans as Head of Early Learning and Education where, as part of the executive team, she will be responsible for leading the education and learning strategy of the Group.
“Welcoming Ali to our executive team will ensure our organisation is aligned around our education strategy as we deliver on our purpose, to create the foundations for learning for life,” Gary Carroll, Chief Executive Officer said.
“Elevating the role to the executive level reflects the strategic value the organisation placed on delivering quality learning experiences.”
Ms Evans brings with her over 30 years of experience in the broader education sector, beginning her career as an early childhood teacher, before going on to hold senior roles within early learning and higher education.
More recently she held senior positions at both Goodstart Early Learning and C&K in practice related roles including Head of Practice Improvement and Head of Education, Wellbeing & Inclusion.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to lead G8’s education strategy into the future, building on the great work that has been implemented up until now,” Ms Evans said.
“When it’s a child’s education, we have a responsibility to give them the best possible outcomes through quality teaching and learning. We couldn’t achieve this without our amazing educators and teachers.”
Ms Evans said she was excited to be leading initiatives that would prioritise children’s development, learning and wellbeing and will see her role focus on quality teaching and learning, leadership and mentoring, curriculum development, community partnerships, inclusion, wellbeing, and more.
“Every position I have been in has been important in making a difference for children and families daily,” she said and given the considerable investment G8 has made in its workforce thus far, including providing well-supported study pathways from school-based traineeships through to Bachelor scholarships, she added that it will “all translate to fantastic learning outcomes for our children.”
These sentiments were echoed by Mr Carroll who said “We want to attract and retain the most passionate teachers and educators to deliver great learning and care experiences for our children and families.”
Ms Evans is also currently the President of Early Childhood Australia (Qld), a role she conducts in a voluntary capacity, and one she will continue to hold whilst at G8.
