Manooka Valley Preschool welcomes Reform Agreement which will offer more certainty
Julie Brown, Director of Manooka Valley Community Preschool in New South Wales, has welcomed the decision by the NSW Government to sign on to the Preschool Reform Agreement, welcoming the funding certainty and support the agreement brings.
NSW Minister for Education and Early Childhood Learning, Sarah Mitchell, announced the decision on 6 December, securing an agreement between the Commonwealth and New South Wales Governments to ensure every child will receive high quality education in the year before school.
“It’s great to see this recognition, as funding that provides more opportunities for more children to access quality early childhood education is really vital,” Ms Brown said.
Children having more access to care, she continued, is a fundamental aspect of supporting their social and emotional development, in turn improving not only their outcomes, but those of families and the broader community.
Under the agreement the Commonwealth Government has committed $560 million of new funding and the NSW Government more than $280 million to support the four year deal.
