Gambling Community Benefit Fund will support QLD ECEC community

Community organisations across Queensland will share in almost $11 million from the latest round of grants from the Gambling Community Benefit Fund (GCBF) which is going to 448 not-for-profit community groups in the latest round of the program.

Member for Rockhampton Barry O’Rourke shared the good news today and congratulated the 14 successful recipients from the Central Queensland region he presides over.

“These grants deliver projects and services that really benefit our local community,” Mr O’Rourke said.

“This valuable funding will be used for projects such as new equipment for the Tarumbal Kindergarten Association, a new water tank for the Rockhampton Saloon Car Club, and an upgraded sprinkler system for the Gracemere Bowls Club.

Round 112 of the funding is now open, with Queensland Attorney-General and Minister for Justice Shannon Fentiman reminding organisations that applications are open until 31 October and that they are now “just one round away from 2022’s round 113 – the super round.”

“Next year is an exciting year for the GCBF, with the first-time inclusion of a super round when grants of up to $100,000 will be up for grabs,” Ms Fentiman said.

“I can’t wait to see the fruits of the hard work of these community groups, with a little help from their GCBF grants, in the future.”

ECEC Funding recipients

The following ECEC organisations have been successful in securing funding under round 110: 

• Blackwater Tiny Tots Centre Inc – $ 24,606.20 to upgrade Facility 
• Florence Kindergarten & Preschool Incorporated – $35,000 to install a playground 
• Happy Valley Community Kindergarten Association Inc  – $8,510 to upgrade a sprinkler system 
• Jandowae Kindergarten Association Inc – $1,193 to purchase a crash mat and trampoline 
• Lowood And District Community Kindergarten Association Inc – $15,463 to purchase learning equipment 
• Memorial Park Community Kindergarten Assn Inc – $18,235 to install blinds and purchase outdoor furniture 
• Playgroup Queensland Ltd, Sarina Kidz Playgroup – $4,481 to purchase equipment 
• Staverton Kindergarten Association Inc – $35,000 to upgrade playground 
• Taroom Kindergarten Association Inc – $11,876.71 to install shade covers and post protectors 
• The Creche And Kindergarten Association Limited C&K Ascot Community Kindergarten –  $19,410.00 to upgrade facility
• Tarumbal Kindergarten Association Inc. – $30,161.02 to upgrade facility and purchase equipment
