Nominations now open for tenth annual Excellence in Family Day Care awards
Family Day Care Australia (FDCA) has announced the opening of nominations for the 2021 Excellence in Family Day Care Awards, the tenth in the Awards history.
“As the national peak body for family day care, it’s our chance to showcase the stories and achievements of the educators, coordinators and services that care for more than 93,000 children across the country,” a spokesperson for FDCA said.
In addition to celebrating the “unique benefits of nurturing, natural home environments, flexible hours of care and small group settings that family day care provides”.
“It’s amazing to think that over the Awards’ ten year history, we have received over 30,000 nominations,” FDCA CEO Andrew Paterson said.
2021 represents a special milestone in Awards history, with FDCA set to hand out the 1,000th award to “one well-deserving member”.
The Awards officially opened on Monday, and since that time 1,000 nominations have been submitted, reflecting the esteem in which the Awards are held by the broader community.
Run mostly by women who are operating as sole traders, family day care represents “one of the largest networks of women in small business in the country”.
“Our members are not just early childhood professionals but small business owners, parents and pillars of their communities,” Mr Paterson explained. “We’re proud to recognise their achievements and their importance to so many Australian families requiring bespoke education and care to suit their diverse needs and lifestyles.”
Nominations for the 2021 Excellence in Family Day Care Awards close 13 June 2021. For more information about the Awards, please see here.
