Goodstart Bathurst directs $13,000 funding to outdoor equipment, furniture
The leadership team at Goodstart Early Learning Bathurst will use funding of almost $13,000 from the NSW Government to buy outdoor equipment, furniture and chairs, local news source Western Advocate has reported.
The Quality Learning Environments grants are available for not-for-profit community and mobile preschools and not-for-profit long day care services, enabling these services to buy resources and activities which improve physical or educational learning environments.
Local Member Paul Toole told Western Advocate that the grants are especially welcomed this year, after the Bathurst community has dealt with drought, fire and COVID-19.
“Early childhood education is incredibly important and these grants will help educators provide high quality learning environments for our children,” he said.
The announcement of the funding is another positive moment in the service, building on the excitement of the Excellent rating, awarded to the service in November last year, and the awarding of the Awabakal Excellence in Education Award to educator Kerrie Kennedy.
