ECEC’s top talent sought in 2021 Queensland Training Awards

The Queensland Government is on the hunt for the state’s top training sector talent from a variety of sectors and industries, including early childhood education and care (ECEC), for recognition in the 2021 Queensland Training Awards.
2021 marks the 60th anniversary of the awards, which recognise the role that strong vocational education and training (VET) plays in “changing lives and transforming businesses,” Queensland Minister for Training and Skills Development Di Farmer said.
The awards acknowledge and reward dedicated and hard-working apprentices, trainees, vocational students, teachers and trainers, as well as the employers, training providers and community projects that are striving for excellence and innovation in the training system.
“Many of these stories are nothing short of inspiring,” Ms Farmer said, encouraging eligible Queenslanders to nominate “so we can share them and celebrate the power of skills in 2021.”
Recognising both individual and organisational efforts, the awards can help entrants expand their career options and raise their profile — providing added promotion for organisations as employers or training providers of choice in their region, state and on a national level.
Queensland is investing heavily in the VET sector in 2021, with an additional $21 million allocated to expand free TAFE and free apprenticeships to Queenslanders under 25, and a joint investment with the Federal Government which will implement the $200 million JobTrainer program.
The Queensland Training Awards are run by the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training. Winners of some categories will have the chance to vie for awards at a national level by competing at the Australian Training Awards in November 2021.
