Police sound a warning – ECEC services are being targeted for electronic theft

Property owners who border early childhood education and care (ECEC) services in Brisbane’s inner west are being asked to support police by reporting any suspicious activities, people or vehicles in or around these areas following a month of break and enter offences resulting in the loss of iPads, laptops, cash and other valuable and attractive items.

Acting Sergeant Paul Bagnall said offenders have targeted several centres across North Brisbane, including The Gap and Samford areas, with offenders mainly striking during the night and over weekend periods.

Police have increased patrols around the centres in the Inner West Divisions and are also conducting proactive crime prevention intervention activities with ECEC services in the area.

Anyone with information for police in relation to the crimes is encouraged to contact Policelink and provide information using the online suspicious activity form 24hrs per day at www.police.qld.gov.au/reporting or by calling 131 444.
