Urgent session reports reminder as CCSS maintenance clashes with EOFY deadline

The Department of Education, Skills and Employment (DESE) has issued a reminder to all early childhood education and care (ECEC) services to submit session reports for the 2019-20 CCS year by 9 August 2020, while also informing providers that the Child Care Subsidy System (CCSS) will be offline on 8 and 9 August as Services Australia undertakes scheduled maintenance of their IT systems.

In real terms, this means it is essential that all providers submit their records prior to 10 PM on Saturday 8 August in order to meet the 9 August deadline. 

Accuracy of session reports, which must be finalised by the due date, is essential, DESE said, as these reports will be used to balance and reconcile CCS entitlements for families following the end of the financial year. 

The CCSS will be closed for the 2019–20 CCS year from 10 August 2020. Providers will not be able to submit new session reports, or vary or withdraw existing session reports, for any period between 1 July 2019 and 6 April 2020 after that date. 

Providers were further reminded that the Early Childhood Education and Care Relief Package commenced on 6 April 2020 and ceased on 12 July 2020 and that session reports cannot be submitted for this period.
