TLC Healthcare vertically aligns to move into ECEC space
TLC Healthcare have commenced work on their latest development in Melbourne, in the bayside suburb of Mordialloc, the first development for the company to feature integrated early childhood education and care (ECEC).
Located opposite the Woodlands Golf Course, designs for the site show a 120 place child care centre alongside a 150 place residential aged care home, community medical centre, commercial health club, swimming pool and café.
The site is due for completion in 2022, and aims to showcase a new concept in centrally located intergenerational care services offered in one location by a single provider.
At the core of the new direction for the company are the twin drivers of healthcare integration and aged care deinstitutionalisation, which to date has seen them combine community medical centres, gymnasiums and swimming pools with their aged care homes located across Melbourne and Geelong.
The move to ECEC, a TLC spokesperson said, is “one that is a natural progression for the organisation.”
“At this location, TLC will be entering a new era of integrated health care with the opening of our first child care centre. Given the synergies between aged care, primary care and child care, it is a logical progression for our organisation to enter this field” TLC Healthcare CEO Lou Pascuzzi said.
“TLC Early Learning’s first child care centre will be state-of-the-art and located alongside an aged care home, and community medical centre; giving peace of mind to our parents. Parents will also be able to join our on-site TLC Health Club, making it easier to fit in a workout or swim knowing their child is being well taken care of” he added.
Further expansion plans for the company include the development of an additional site in Ivanhoe East, again with ECEC services incorporated, which is scheduled for delivery in 2023.
