Preschool teachers sound a happy note in SA with the announcement of free music PD
Educators from South Australian Government schools and preschools who are interested in developing their capability and confidence in teaching music have been invited to register their interest in one of three freely available professional development (PD) packages as part of the State Government’s Music Education Strategy.
All packages feature a full-day professional development workshop with a registered music education organisation and attendance at a half-day Music Education workshop with Dr Anita Collins, Neuromusical educator.
Packages have been prepared to connect with the Australian Curriculum, and participants will learn more about how they can deliver music education in the classroom and about the benefits of music education, its impacts on wellbeing and the development of children.
The commitment to musical education in SA is underpinned by a long-term vision outlined by the Government, for all children and young people throughout their education have access to high-quality music education that is valued and inspires learning.
Workshops will begin in March. For more information on the packages and how to register visit the Music Education Strategy webpage. Registration of interest closes Friday 28 February 2020.
