Playgroup Australia rounds out National Playgroup Week with fun, friends and play

Playgroup Australia celebrated National Playgroup Week 2025 at the Paint and Play playgroup at the Southern Cross Early Childhood School in Scullin, hosted by ACT Playgroups and attended by Governor-General of Australia and patron of Playgroup Australia Her Excellency the Honourable Sam Mostyn AC.
The event brought together children and families to celebrate the power of playgroups and the vital role of playgroups in fostering early childhood development, parent wellbeing, and community resilience.
“National Playgroup Week is a time to recognise and celebrate the incredible impact playgroups have on families and communities across Australia. Seeing the joy and connection here today is a powerful reminder of the power of playgroups. We are deeply grateful to Her Excellency for her ongoing support as our Patron and to ACT Playgroups for hosting this event,” Playgroup Australia CEO Patricia O’Donovan said, expressing her gratitude for the continued support of the Governor-General and the unwavering dedication of local playgroup volunteers.
National Playgroup Week 2025 was celebrated across the country with events, activities, and initiatives that highlighted the benefits of playgroups for children and grown-ups alike.
