Building Blocks IT Grants boost ECEC capacity for 2025 and beyond
Over 760 kindergarten and long day care services in Victoria will benefit from $1.4 million in funding, delivered through the latest round of Building Blocks IT grants, to improve their IT equipment.
The grants will help services deliver educational programs and support administration, with grants of up to $2,000 being distributed to more than 760 eligible services for things like laptops, iPads, screens and IT hardware used to deliver kindergarten programs.
The Building Blocks Program, which offers grants to contribute to kindergarten infrastructure and equipment, is critical to ensure the success of the roll-out of the Best Start, Best Life reforms across Victoria. Since Building Blocks was launched in 2020, the Victorian Government has invested more than $235 million in planning, building and upgrading early childhood services across the state.
The Government is investing billions to build and expand hundreds of kindergartens across the state, supporting the delivery of 15 hours of Three-Year-Old Kindergarten each week by 2029 and up to 30 hours of PrePrep each week by 2036.
