ECEC Provider in Focus: Kelly Club OSHC

Kelly Club is an outside school hours care (OSHC) provider which operates in 48 Victorian schools and offers both before and after school care as well as Vacation Care for children aged 5 – 13 years. 

 

What is the history of Kelly Club? 

 

Kelly Club was established in 2009, and began offering OSHC in 2015, with a vision of bringing something ‘new and exciting’ to the Australian early childhood education and care (ECEC) sector. 

 

What is the Kelly Club vision and approach to learning? 

 

Kelly Club works in partnership with schools and communities to match the needs of the children in that local context to the services offered by the provider. 

 

“Our mission is to give children the chance to do the things they love in an environment where they feel supported and encouraged,” information on the website states. 

 

“At the same time, we want our parents to feel secure that their kids are safe and nurtured.”

 

Programs are focused around sports, cooking, art and craft activities, discovery time and homework, as well as relaxation time around a busy life at school. Children are encouraged, educated and entertained during their time with Kelly Club.

 

Are there any unique aspects to the Kelly Club offer? 

 

Kelly Club enters into a revenue-share model with partner schools to ensure that the school’s financial return increases as the program grows.

 

“Our Kelly Club revenue-share model is an integral part of our business partnership with schools,” Managing Director Jeff Fleming said.

 

“Our philosophy is to build a partnership with schools, where we weave the school’s vision, values and ethos through each of our programs, with the added advantage that the school benefits greatly from a financial perspective too.”
