MinRes to develop own ECEC service for exclusive use of employees
Diversified resources company Mineral Resources (MinRes) has announced the development of an early childhood education and care (ECEC) service next door to its headquarters in Osborne Park, which will be offering care exclusively for the children of employees.
The dedicated ECEC facility is currently under construction, with refurbishment of the existing building planned for completion by the end of 2024.
Operating five days a week, the 104 place service promises a safe and supportive environment for children of MinRes employees aged birth – five years of age at an all-inclusive cost of no more than $20 per child per day.
During school holidays, the service plans to offer vacation care for children up to 12 years of age.
MinRes will recruit its own team of qualified educators to develop and implement an early learning curriculum, with children set to enjoy the same level of quality services and amenities delivered next door at MinRes head office, where a creche service is currently available.
The creche offers free ad-hoc and short-term care for children aged eight weeks to 12 years while parents work, attend meetings or participate in other office activities. This service will continue to operate alongside the ECEC service.
For MinRes General Manager Strategic Assets Myles Schammer developing an ECEC service is all about “providing convenient and reliable childcare for the company’s growing workforce.”
“We want to deliver the industry’s best employee experience by investing in initiatives that prioritise quality, convenience and wellbeing,” Mr Schammer said.
“Our daycare (sic.) will be another step forward, providing our employees with a safe, nurturing location where their children will be supported by qualified professionals.”
MinRes has a focus on providing “world-class environments that benefit the wellbeing of its employees and extended MinRes family.”
These benefits include 18 weeks paid primary carer leave and four weeks paid secondary carers leave for eligible employees, along with a range of additional services aimed at supporting employees who are starting or growing their family.
Other MinRes angles to improve the employee experience include resort-style accommodation at its Onslow Iron project and plans to deliver a standalone flights department.
