The Australian Research Alliance for Children and Youth (ARACY) has announced the appointment of Prue Warrilow as its CEO, effective 1 July 2024.
Ms Warrilow has had extensive engagement in child and youth policy and service delivery, having established her own company Families At Work, and having served as Chair of Families Australia for 9 years, and the Y NSW for three years.
She is currently the interim CEO of Y NSW.
“ARACY has achieved much in its first 20 years of existence. The ARACY Board believes Prue brings the right combination of expertise, experience and character required to lead us into our next stage of evolution, so we can better fulfil our ambition to live in a country where every child is thriving,” Board Chair Adjunct Associate Professor Shamal Dass said.
The ARACY Board thanked Roslyn Dundas for her ‘steadfast stewardship’ as acting CEO since the beginning of 2024, and acknowledged the efforts of the broader ARACY team for continuing to deliver at a high standard, especially through a period of significant change including a constitutional review.
Ms Warrilow said she was thrilled to be joining ARACY, with its rich history of work contributing to the strong evidence base supporting children and young people to thrive.
“I’m looking forward to working with the ARACY team – including some groundbreaking projects such as the Thriving Queensland Kids Partnership, and the Investment Dialogue for Australia’s Children, (and) continuing to shape a present and future focussed on reducing intergenerational disadvantage for children and young people,” she said.
Ms Dundas will remain as acting CEO until Ms Warrilow commences.
