Brabham Primary School opens new ECEC centre

Brabham Primary School has opened a new early childhood education and care (ECEC) service which will provide education and care for an additional 160 kindergarten students providing relief on the site of the nearby growing primary school.
Up to 350 kindergarten and pre-primary students will be accommodated at the service, called Brabham Bidi Kaatadjiny, in 2025 and beyond.
“The name Brabham Bidi Kaatadjiny means Brabham Journey of Knowledge,” Early Childhood Education Minister Sabine Winton said.
“The significance of a child beginning their formal schooling education journey is highlighted through the name.”
“The school’s cultural responsive team consulted with multiple Elders, and the primary school site and the offsite kindergarten remain strongly connected.”
The $8 million centre includes five pre-primary transportable buildings, administration transportable building, toilet block transportable building, car park, playgrounds, bike shelter and landscaping.
Brabham Primary School opened in 2021 and currently has approximately 1,000 students from kindergarten to Year 6, and serves the rapidly growing area which is populated with young families.
