Kidsoft teams up with ACT Government to launch free calculator to support 3YO preschool rollout
Leading childcare management software provider Kidsoft is excited to introduce a new, user-friendly and free calculator designed to simplify fee calculations for the upcoming Free 3-Year-Old Preschool program in the ACT.
Developed in partnership with the ACT Government, this tool aims to support the wider early childhood education and care (ECEC) sector across the Territory.
Starting in 2024, the ACT’s Free 3-Year-Old Preschool program is an exciting initiative, providing 300 hours per year of free preschool to Canberra families. However understanding the fee structure can be complex, particularly for families of children participating in a preschool program within a long day care setting.
In response to this, Kidsoft has created a tool that empowers long day care services to easily determine the gap fee for each child within their preschool program. This innovative calculator not only benefits childcare services in the ACT but also streamlines the implementation process for the ACT Government and the wider ECEC sector.
“As the ACT introduces the Free 3-Year-Old Preschool program, we share in their excitement as quality early childhood education becomes more accessible for the children of Canberra,” Di Girvin, Chief Executive Officer of Kidsoft said, emphasising the significance of this initiative,
“We do however acknowledge the challenges faced by both ECEC services and by families in adapting to this new initiative. By developing this calculator, Kidsoft is proud to demonstrate that we are more than a software provider, but a true partner to the ECEC sector.”
This free calculator is available for all ECEC services in the ACT. The easy-to-use tool simplifies fee calculations, ensuring transparency and clarity for ECEC services and families.
