Irrawang Public Preschool recognised for Exceeding in all seven quality areas
Irrawang Public School’s preschool unit has been rated as Exceeding the National Quality Standard in all seven quality areas by two authorised officers who visited the service.
The service was noted for “its achievements in providing quality outcomes for children” and for the careful planning, reflective practice and willingness to collaborate with families and other community organisations to enhance children’s learning and wellbeing.
Stacy Mathieson, nominated supervisor and Principal for the school, said she was “beyond proud” of the achievements of the team, attributing the results to the dedication and hard work of the entire team who always go above and beyond for the children in their care.
For Pedagogical Leader Mrs Michelle Lynch, the assessment and rating process “highlighted the strength of our team and the commitment we have to delivering quality principles and practices to our community”.
“The exceeding rating awarded to us highlights our unwavering passion and love of providing quality education and care through play, nurturing our children so they are ready to transition into their primary school years,” she shared with local news source News of the Area.
Although the preschool received the rating, for the educators, the achievement is one which is relevant to the whole school community.
For Preschool Learning Support Officer Alexandra Hay, the rating is “a true reflection of the high quality practices in place to support the children”.
“I feel honoured to work in a service that is dedicated, hardworking and puts the children’s needs first,” she said.
Irrawang Public School Preschool is a fee-free preschool that educates and cares for up to 40 children across two groups on a five-day fortnight that caters for children the year prior to Kindergarten.
