TAFE Queensland has been recognised as the Large Training Provider of the Year at the prestigious 2023 Australian Training Awards held Friday 17 November.

The Australian Training Awards are the peak national awards for the vocational education and training (VET) sector, recognising individuals, businesses and registered training organisations for their contribution to skilling Australia.

TAFE Queensland is Queensland’s largest, most experienced training provider delivering practical, industry-relevant training across almost 500 qualifications at more than 60 campus locations throughout Queensland, from Thursday Island in the north, to Coolangatta in the south east, and as far west as Mount Isa.

TAFE Queensland Chief Executive Officer John Tucker said the award recognises TAFE Queensland’s ongoing achievements in providing high-quality vocational education and training products and services to students, businesses and government partners.

“The award is a significant achievement and showcases TAFE Queensland’s commitment to training excellence and capability to constantly provide industry with job-ready graduates who are confident, capable, and who have the hands-on skills employers need,” Mr Tucker said.

“I am incredibly thankful that we have so many skilled and committed people working in our organisation, all of which are highly experienced, are closely connected with their industries, and are dedicated to delivering best practice and innovative training that provides real employment outcomes.”

“We know the power of training and skills and we are in the privileged position of not only being able to help our students to change their lives and achieve their career aspirations, but also enhance the social wellbeing and financial sustainability of the communities in which we work and live throughout Queensland.”
